Veterinary Technician

About the Position:
We are seeking a highly skilled Veterinary Technician to join our Oncology Unit at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support to our veterinary students, interns, and residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform quality medicine at the highest levels and standards while running and maintaining advanced equipment associated with these procedures.
- Provide patient care management and treatments, including collection of blood, urine, and tissue samples.
- Administer and apply treatments, drugs, fluids, medications, and immunological agents by oral, parenteral, and injectable routes.
- Enter proper charges for cases and submit and check lab work and imaging results through the Hospital computer system.
- Professionally communicate with doctors and students concerning the affected workflow, time limitations, and patient status.
Requirements:
- Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate.
- Preferred Qualifications: Hands-on experience as an LVT working within an Oncology unit of a small animal hospital.
