Job Summary:

Christus Health is seeking a skilled and experienced Sterile Processing Lead Technician to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Sterile Processing Department. This role involves maintaining accurate documentation, ensuring a smooth flow of supplies to our Nursing Units and Clinics, and managing a team of associates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a liaison between departments to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Provide input on inventory levels to optimize stock management and minimize waste.
  • Conduct regular physical inventories to ensure accuracy and compliance with inventory control practices.
  • Instruct associates on inventory control devices and procedures to ensure proper use and maintenance.
  • Assist new Floor Stock associates in their onboarding process to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Ensure sound inventory control practices are implemented and maintained throughout the department.
  • Demonstrate competence in client care and adhere to infection control procedures to ensure a safe and healthy environment for patients.
  • Follow written policies and procedures for instrument care and sterilization protocols to ensure compliance and quality.
  • Implement and monitor quality control programs to identify areas for improvement and ensure continuous quality enhancement.
  • Assist in reviewing and updating the Quality Improvement plan to ensure alignment with departmental goals and objectives.
  • Participate in continuing education and training to stay up-to-date on industry best practices and advancements.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-2 years of sterile processing experience preferred.
  • IAHCSMM Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) or Certified Registered Central Sterile Tech required.
