Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Microbiologist to join our team at LabCorp. As a Clinical Microbiologist, you will be responsible for determining the acceptability of specimens for testing, performing routine and complex technical procedures, and monitoring instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.

Key Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology or a related science (or 24 credits in Chemistry/Biology constituting a biological science major) as required by CLIA
• 1 year of prior microbiology experience in a clinical or reference laboratory is required
• Must possess a working knowledge of clinical microbiology processes, procedures and equipment (MALDI-TOF and VITEK2)
• ASCP or AMT certification is preferred
