Job Summary

The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) is a critical member of our team at International SOS Government Medical Services. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced MLT to provide comprehensive health services to DOS, DOD, and contractor personnel stationed in Iraq.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect and process biological specimens for laboratory testing.
  • Conduct routine and specialized tests in hematology, microbiology, chemistry, and blood bank.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and troubleshoot any technical issues.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean laboratory environment.
  • Record and report test results accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with pathologists and other medical staff to interpret results and ensure quality patient care.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Participate in Mass Casualty exercises and events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years recent experience as Medical Laboratory Technician, including 6 months within the last year.
  • Certified as a medical laboratory technician through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), the American Medical Technologists (AMT), the National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel (NCALP) or the Board of Registry of the American Association of Bioanalysis (AAB).
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
  • Experience on a military site working as a government subcontractor or prime contractor is preferred.
Education:
  • Associate's degree in medical laboratory technology or related field.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must meet pre-deployment physical requirements.
  • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods.
  • May require bending, stooping, and lifting to 25 lbs.
Additional Requirements:
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
  • Valid US Passport with at least 6 months before expiration date.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance, specifically an MRPT.
  • Must be able to relocate to Iraq for the duration of the project.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate.
