Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the implementation of safety, security, and health protocols in compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards. Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and department heads to ensure effective management of safety initiatives.
  • Interpret and enforce organizational policies, procedures, and programs related to employment, compensation, onboarding, and training. Evaluate the effectiveness of these policies and propose necessary adjustments. Draft site-specific policies to meet operational needs.
  • Manage the compensation and benefits framework for all personnel, ensuring employees are informed of any changes to the programs.
  • Handle labor relations to safeguard the organization’s interests while enhancing the employer-employee dynamic. Work closely with legal counsel, payroll, and benefits experts to implement policies within a unionized environment.
  • Foster positive employee relations and maintain open communication between the workforce and management. Regular interaction with employees on the production floor is vital for building effective relationships.
  • Provide support, guidance, training, and resources to staff.
  • Ensure adherence to all state, federal, and company regulations. Develop and sustain EEO/AAP initiatives.
  • Establish and uphold security protocols to meet standard practices and customer audit criteria.
  • Maintain accurate personnel records.
  • Engage in corporate HR initiatives and serve as a resource for other HR professionals within the organization.
  • Design and implement employee training programs to ensure compliance with governmental mandates.
  • Supervise the HR team directly, offering leadership, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline. PHR or SPHR certification is preferred.
  • Several years of HR experience in a manufacturing context, with the ability to comprehend and apply all relevant policies and procedures consistently.
  • Strong communication skills with effective interpersonal abilities. Proven capability to supervise and lead teams. Skills in team building and organizational management are essential.
  • Experience in a Lean Manufacturing setting, with a solid understanding of continuous improvement principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Ability to conduct research and analyze data to formulate valid conclusions, recommendations, and actionable plans.

· Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet software, particularly Microsoft Office (Word/Excel).
