HealthMed Pro Solutions is in search of a committed and proficient Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant (RTA) to become a vital part of our healthcare team. The successful candidate will assist Physical Therapists in providing high-quality, patient-focused rehabilitation services.
Your role will be essential in facilitating therapeutic interventions, educating patients, and managing administrative responsibilities to improve patient outcomes and foster overall physical health.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care and Support:
- Collaborate with Physical Therapists to execute treatment strategies aimed at enhancing patient mobility, strength, and functional abilities.
- Prepare patients for therapy sessions, ensuring their comfort and understanding of the procedures involved.
- Implement therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and heat/cold therapy under the guidance of a Physical Therapist.
- Assist patients during therapeutic activities, ensuring exercises are performed safely and effectively.
- Observe patient reactions to treatments and communicate any significant changes or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress, treatments administered, and relevant observations in the patient's medical records.
Patient Education and Guidance:
- Instruct patients and their families on exercises, therapeutic procedures, and home exercise programs as directed by the Physical Therapist.
- Demonstrate the proper use of assistive devices, such as walkers and canes, while providing guidance on body mechanics and posture.
- Motivate and encourage patients to adhere to their treatment plans and engage actively in their rehabilitation journey.
Equipment and Facility Oversight:
- Prepare treatment areas by organizing equipment and ensuring a clean and safe environment.
- Maintain therapy equipment through cleaning, disinfecting, and routine inspections to ensure optimal functioning.
- Assist in the procurement and organization of therapy supplies, monitoring inventory levels, and reporting shortages to the Physical Therapist or clinic manager.
Administrative and Coordination Tasks:
- Schedule patient appointments, update records, and manage administrative tasks related to patient care.
- Communicate with patients to remind them of their appointments and provide essential information regarding therapy sessions.
- Assist with processing insurance documentation, billing, and other necessary paperwork as required.
Team Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with Physical Therapists, healthcare providers, and administrative staff to coordinate patient care and ensure efficient clinic operations.
- Participate in team meetings and case discussions, contributing to patient care planning and quality improvement efforts.
- Effectively communicate with patients, families, and caregivers to address concerns and provide updates on treatment progress.
Professional Growth and Continuous Learning:
- Stay informed about advancements in physical therapy techniques, modalities, and best practices through ongoing education and training.
- Engage in professional development opportunities, including workshops, seminars, and conferences.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and share insights with colleagues to enhance patient care and clinic operations.
General Responsibilities:
- Uphold ethical and professional standards in all interactions and treatment activities.
- Perform additional duties related to the Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant role as assigned by supervisors.
- Support clinic operations by assisting with administrative tasks and front-desk responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree from an accredited Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant program.
- State licensure as a Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant.
- Demonstrated experience in a clinical environment, preferably with diverse patient populations.
- Proficient in assisting with diagnostic and therapeutic techniques utilized in physical therapy.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development. 10 hour days Monday Friday, Saturday rotation.
