The Lead Acquisitions Analyst will employ analytical prowess and critical reasoning to tackle intricate business issues and provide impactful analyses and recommendations that bolster acquisitions and corporate sourcing endeavors. This includes advanced financial modeling, scrutinizing essential financial indicators and statements, crafting comprehensive business proposals for Senior Management, forecasting inventory requirements, conducting RFP assessments, evaluating supplier performance, and performing market analysis.
This role will report directly to the Manager of Strategic Development and will be instrumental in promoting top-tier analytical practices across the Acquisitions and Sourcing divisions. The Lead Acquisitions Analyst will collaborate closely with both internal teams and external partners to develop financial projections for new resort initiatives, finalize detailed business proposals, monitor and manage rebates, and generate and interpret monthly/quarterly expenditure reports containing financial or supplier data. By applying analytical and critical thinking skills, they will assist and lead various sourcing and acquisition projects. A creative problem solver with outstanding written and verbal communication abilities is essential. This is a hybrid position, requiring in-office attendance Monday through Wednesday and remote work on Thursday and Friday.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee, develop, and analyze financial projections of revenue/expenses, cash flows, and returns including IRR, NPV, ROIC, and other relevant metrics for all resort developments and acquisitions, conducting subsequent valuation assessments.
- Assist and/or lead in the negotiation and examination of various contract types, such as Purchase and Sale Agreements and Master Service agreements.
- Draft and finalize comprehensive business proposals for Senior Management's use.
- Anticipate and forecast business requirements, devise inventory acquisition strategies, and outline the necessary capital.
- Establish and maintain reports for tracking savings, budget forecasting, and expenditure reporting by category and supplier to facilitate decision-making for Strategic Sourcing Category Management.
- Engage directly with suppliers to aid in the development of RFPs, resolve discrepancies related to rebates, invoicing, and other sourcing requirements.
- Identify reporting necessities and create reports as required to furnish data for Sourcing management and Key Stakeholders, supporting the Strategic Sourcing Category Management/Spend and Diversity reporting process.
- Responsible for maintaining and enhancing the department's reporting platform for use by all members of the strategic sourcing leadership team, ensuring data accuracy and troubleshooting potential issues.
- Process Improvement - Develop process flows, pinpoint process limitations, and implement enhancements within the Department.
- Manage supply chain relationships and collaborate with suppliers to uncover additional cost savings and revenue opportunities through new initiatives or by expanding existing programs.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or equivalent professional experience preferred.
- Proficient in Excel, with advanced knowledge of access databases, PowerPoint, Visio, and SharePoint.
- Basic understanding of financial metrics such as NPV, IRR, DCF, etc.
- Exceptional strategic, analytical, and creative thinking skills in both independent and collaborative settings.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and maintain organization.
- Effective communication skills with senior management and peers.
- Familiarity with Strategic Sourcing Category Management and business valuations is advantageous.
- Demonstrated analytical capabilities and comfort with data, metrics, and statistical methodologies.
- Experience with Oracle, Peoplesoft, and GEP is a plus.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in financial or operational analysis, budgeting, forecasting, or modeling.
- Experience in soliciting, gathering, and analyzing user input and requirements.
- Experience in authoring requirements, definitions, and related documentation.
- Experience in developing financial models and understanding the resulting financial metrics, NPV, IRR, DCF.
