Job Overview

Position Summary: DHI CORP is seeking a skilled Buyer/Planner to enhance our procurement and planning operations. The successful candidate will possess extensive experience in sourcing finished products, managing global supply chains, and proficiency in demand forecasting and planning. This position encompasses both strategic sourcing and meticulous planning to maintain optimal inventory levels and ensure efficient supply chain management.

Key Responsibilities:

Planning and Forecasting:

  • Facilitate monthly forecasting sessions with sales, product, and production teams to evaluate inputs and adjust forecasts accordingly.
  • Employ advanced forecasting techniques and tools to anticipate future inventory requirements.
  • Develop purchasing strategies based on inventory assessments, market dynamics, demand variations, and supplier production schedules.

Purchasing and Inventory Management:

  • Create and implement purchasing strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Manage purchase orders, direct shipments, and blanket orders to fulfill material requirements.
  • Continuously assess demand and supply timelines to enhance customer service and meet inventory targets.
  • Optimize sales and inventory turnover by effectively managing supply and inventory levels.

Supply Chain Collaboration:

  • Engage with vendors and suppliers in quarterly reviews to strengthen partnerships and address quality, lead time, and delivery challenges.
  • Collaborate with the supply chain team and logistics partners to oversee and monitor shipments.
  • Assist in resolving invoice discrepancies and receiving issues.
  • Manage relationships with distribution centers, facilitating discussions on quality, capacity, and logistics.

Corporate Responsibilities:

  • Lead the purchasing team in identifying and implementing process enhancements.
  • Maintain and update documentation and standard operating procedures for demand planning.
  • Stay proficient with ERP systems and industry best practices.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. APICS CPIM certification is preferred.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in forecasting, planning, and purchasing, particularly with finished goods.
  • Experience with international suppliers is highly advantageous.
  • Understanding of volume sales drivers by SKU across various products in high-volume eCommerce environments.
  • Strong background in eCommerce supply chain and S&OP is a significant advantage.
  • Demonstrated business acumen and analytical skills to leverage data for decision-making.
  • Familiarity with NetSuite and NSPB or other forecasting tools is a plus.
  • Ability to present data effectively and influence discussions with executives and cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated with a strong attention to detail.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this role, the employee may occasionally need to stand, walk, sit, and use hands for various tasks. The ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds may be required. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.

Work Environment:

This position involves exposure to typical office and warehouse conditions, with a generally minimal noise level.
