We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Steward to join our team at Colonial Downs Group LLC. As a key member of our hospitality leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the stewarding department and ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and efficiency in our kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities- Department Leadership: Provide direction and guidance to stewarding staff, ensuring they have the necessary tools and resources to excel in their roles.
- Operational Excellence: Develop and implement strategies to maintain par levels of stock, optimize supply chain management, and ensure seamless execution of events and daily operations.
- Employee Engagement: Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting employee growth and development through training, feedback, and recognition.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections to ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, as well as company standards for cleanliness and organization.
- Inventory Management: Oversee the requisition and maintenance of equipment, supplies, and inventory, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.
- Event Support: Collaborate with event planners and chefs to ensure seamless execution of events, including setup, service, and breakdown.
- Training and Development: Provide training and coaching to stewarding staff on best practices, new procedures, and equipment operation.
- Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with kitchen staff, event planners, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless operations and resolve any issues promptly.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience as an Executive Steward or in a similar leadership role, with a proven track record of success in hospitality operations.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in hospitality, culinary arts, or a related field preferred.
- Certifications: Virginia Racing Commission License and valid driver's license with a minimum of 3 years of driving experience.
The physical demands of this role include standing for extended periods, lifting up to 40 pounds, and working in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job.
