Reliability/Failure Analysis Engineer

Comtech Telecommunications Corp. is seeking a skilled Reliability/Failure Analysis Engineer to join our team in Santa Clara, CA. As a key member of our technical team, you will collaborate with diverse professionals and interact with customers to provide solutions to technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze products at all levels, from concept to disposal, to ensure reliability and effectiveness.
  • Translate customer requirements into product solutions, considering technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, and requirements allocation studies to implement customer requirements.
  • Acquire and integrate product RMA data into mathematical models to project new product characteristics.
  • Conduct R&M testing and statistical evaluation of test data.
  • Review equipment failure data, identify RMA problems, and assess corrective action.
  • Execute Failure Modes Effects Criticality Analyses and Fault Tree Analyses.
  • Perform hardware/software failure analysis and corrective actions for manufacturing and field return product failures.
  • Coordinate supplier failure analysis and corrective actions.
  • Prepare formal reports and presentations to customers describing analysis results.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering, math, physics, computer science, or related STEM discipline.
  • Two or more years of full-time engineering experience.
  • Experience in RMA engineering or analysis of engineering processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform system-level trade studies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Desired Skills:
  • Reliability and/or System Safety experience in diverse electrical and mechanical systems.

The physical demands of this role include standing, walking, sitting, and lifting up to 25 pounds. The work environment is moderate, with occasional noise levels.
