Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Laborer II to join our team at Lafayette Consolidated Government. As a Laborer II, you will perform manual labor requiring more skill than that of the Laborer I class or some knowledge of methods and materials to be used in the area of work assignment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform manual labor tasks that require more skill and knowledge than Laborer I tasks
  • May be required to train on various tasks and equipment
  • Work in a variety of settings, including public works, utilities, parks, and recreation
  • May be required to work variable hours, nights, and weekends
Requirements
  • Some experience in public works, utilities, parks, recreation, or related maintenance, repair, and minor construction activities
  • Related training and experience
  • Valid Louisiana driver's license (Class D or E) may be required for certain positions
Working Conditions

As a Laborer II, you will work in a fast-paced environment with varying temperatures and weather conditions. You may be required to work at heights, in confined spaces, and with hazardous materials.
