Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Per Diem Nurse to join our team at Mass General Brigham. As a Per Diem Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide immediate and long-term nursing care needs of patients within the standards of the department, hospital, and regulatory agencies.
  • Accurately assess patients' needs and identify patient behaviors that contribute to the development of a crisis.
  • Utilize non-verbal and verbal techniques to de-escalate crisis situations.
  • Accurately plan nursing interventions for assigned patients.
  • Establish a therapeutic alliance with assigned patients.
  • Demonstrate safe, accurate, and timely medication administration.
  • Participate in leading patient groups and provide a leadership role in organizing and providing patient care.
  • Provide direction and supervision of Mental Health Workers.
  • Provide for teaching needs of patients and significant others.
Requirements
  • Basic computer skills to use a variety of electronic or online systems for communication, clinical, and administrative purposes.
  • Ability to remain awake and alert at all times on all shifts.
  • Completion of electronic medical records training and demonstration of 80% accuracy on competency test within 30 days of hire.
