Sterilization Specialist

Mortenson Family Dental is seeking a highly skilled Sterilization Technician to join our team. As a Sterilization Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our patients and staff.

• Decontaminate and sterilize instruments, medical supplies, and equipment to the highest standards.
• Assemble, wrap, and sterilize trays of instruments to ensure proper preparation for use.
• Monitor biological and chemical wash solutions to ensure quality and consistency for decontamination of instruments and medical equipment.
• Perform environmental maintenance duties and maintain logs in a thorough manner to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Assist in maintaining inventory levels in sterile processing and equipment storage areas to ensure efficient operations.
• Verify that equipment functions properly, requisition for maintenance, repair, or replacement, and remove defective equipment when needed.
• Check and replace sharps containers, biohazard trash bins, and chairside traps to maintain a safe working environment.
• Maintain a clean work area to ensure a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff.
• Perform weekly spore testing and maintain a log of the results to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Perform weekly and monthly maintenance of Autoclave and Statim to ensure proper functioning.
• Assist clinical staff in optimizing patient flow, including restocking items, seating patients, floating, and supporting other dental team members with patient care.
• Assist with maintaining established company policies and procedures, objectives, and quality safety, and environmental and infection control standards.

• High School Diploma
• Hep B Vaccination
• Tetanus Vaccination

• CPR Certification
• Sterilization / Dental Assistant Experience
