Sterilization Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sterilization Technician to join our team at Mortenson Family Dental. As a key member of our dental team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of sterilization and infection control in our dental practice.

Responsibilities

Decontaminate and sterilize instruments, medical supplies, and equipment to the highest standards of quality and consistency.
Assemble, wrap, and sterilize trays of instruments, ensuring that all equipment is properly prepared for patient care.
Follow sterilization precautions and protocols to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
Perform environmental maintenance duties, including cleaning and disinfecting equipment and maintaining logs of sterilization and maintenance activities.
Assist in maintaining inventory levels of sterile supplies and equipment, and requisitioning replacements as needed.
Verify that equipment functions properly, requisitioning maintenance or repair as necessary, and removing defective equipment when needed.
Check and replace sharps containers, biohazard trash bins, and chairside traps, maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Perform weekly spore testing and maintain a log of results, ensuring that our sterilization processes meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
Assist with maintaining established company policies and procedures, objectives, and quality, safety, and environmental and infection control standards.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Hepatitis B Vaccination and Tetanus Vaccination required.
CPR Certification and Sterilization/Dental Assistant experience desirable.
