We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Mental Health Technician to join our team. As a Mental Health Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Personal Care and Comfort: Provide personal care and comfort to psychiatric patients, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Environmental Safety: Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients, adhering to infection control policies and procedures.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Observation and Reporting: Continuously observe patients' behavior, mental status, and activities, reporting any changes or concerns to the RN.
  • Assisting with Activities: Assist patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Escorting Patients: Escort patients when leaving the unit for activities and scheduled tests, ensuring their safety and supervision.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Certifications: Current CNA certification required, CPI training within 30 days of hire date.
  • Experience: One to two years of experience as a nursing assistant, preferably in a behavioral health setting.
  • Skills: Strong communication and organizational skills, reasoning ability, and good independent judgment.
