About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Water Utility Technician to join our team at the North Alamo Water Supply Corporation. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering high-quality water services to rural communities.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for reading water meters, recording volumes used by residential and commercial consumers, and assisting with the collection of delinquent accounts as needed. They will also assist with routing new meters, changing existing ones, installing customer boxes, and repairing small leaks at meter sites.

This role requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to work effectively with customers and colleagues. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of water utility operations and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and record water meter readings
  • Assist with collecting delinquent accounts
  • Rout new meters and replace existing ones
  • Install customer boxes and repair small leaks
  • Participate in job-specific training and other corporate training programs
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read, write, and follow written instructions
  • A valid Texas driver's license and insurance
  • A Class D Water Distribution certification from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ)
  • Fluency in English and Spanish, both written and verbal
  • Basic mathematics skills for calculating meter readings and testing purposes
