Job Summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Laboratory Phlebotomy Assistant Manager to oversee the daily operations of our outpatient laboratories. As a key member of our laboratory leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient function of our phlebotomy labs, leading a team of direct reports, and collaborating with laboratory leadership to direct and manage projects related to our outpatient service centers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversight of laboratory operations, including CAP/CLIA/TJC compliance, QA, safety, timekeeping, scheduling, point of care testing, and information technology.
  • Leadership and management of a team of 6 direct reports and approximately 60 employees across all outpatient care locations.
  • Collaboration with laboratory leadership to direct and manage projects related to our outpatient service centers.
  • Development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and assistance with the ongoing work and development performed by supervisors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 years of relevant experience required, 4-8 years preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification required.
  • Strong leadership skills, prior experience in completion of written employee evaluations.
  • Ability to solve both internal and external customer service issues.
