The Human Geography Division at Fathom Management LLC is dedicated to delivering a wide range of Human Geography solutions to our clients across various sectors. Our clients depend on the precise and timely provision of these solutions to inform policy-making and operational planning. We are seeking a candidate to support operations within the GEOINT enterprise, addressing requirements and formal requests for geospatial data.
The ideal candidate will leverage their understanding of geography, research methodologies, GIS technologies, and data management skills to create a diverse set of human geography outputs, including detailed reports and maps. Responsibilities may encompass research, data evaluation, extraction, creation, quality assurance, metadata management, and dissemination of products. The candidate will engage in technical discussions with government representatives, partners, and contractors both on-site and remotely, focusing on Human Geography production standards and data attribution challenges.
Essential Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of relevant experience supporting the Department of Defense or Intelligence Community's GEOINT initiatives.
- Strong grasp of Human Geography principles.
- Proficient in the research and extraction of both geospatial and non-geospatial data.
- Experience in imagery analysis and data attribution.
- Familiarity with ArcGIS Pro software for data creation and management.
- Ability to geo-enable non-spatial datasets.
- Effective communication skills for presenting GEOINT products and services to peers and leadership.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of the cultural, political, and regional geography relevant to the assigned area.
- Experience applying cartographic principles and geo-referencing in geospatial product creation.
- Background in producing and publishing GEOINT outputs.
- Working knowledge of at least one foreign language pertinent to the assigned region.
- Experience in data production adhering to NSG standards.
- Familiarity with open-source data processing and automation techniques.
- Experience in data management and schema development.
- Knowledge of Google Earth Engine (GEE).
- Basic proficiency in Python scripting.
