Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Assembler to join our team in Roanoke. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, assembling, and installing vehicle and/or chipper components to meet required specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Use and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure a safe working environment.
- Read and interpret schematics (blueprints) and work orders to complete tasks accurately.
- Operate basic hand tools, such as tape measures, and specialty equipment as required.
- Learn and operate all equipment within the work area (cell) to meet production needs.
- Perform rework as necessary to ensure high-quality products.
- Support Altec Production System (APS) initiatives and participate in Root Cause Investigation (RCI) events.
- Install unit vehicle and/or chipper components and accessories, and test installed components to ensure functionality.
- Follow established safety, environmental, and quality policies, procedures, and practices.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, and shop tools/equipment.
- Record daily time and other relevant information as required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend English language.
- Basic computer usage knowledge desired.
- Vocational training in lieu of experience will be considered.
- Ability to read tape measures, blueprints, and schematics desired.
- General knowledge of at least one of the following areas desired: Mechanical, Hydraulics, Electrical, or Manufacturing/Production processes.
