Job Summary

Performs the primary function of a Surgical Technologist in the Operating Room, maintaining accountability for the provision of surgical instruments to the surgical team.

Coordinates the care of the surgical patient with other team members, maintaining patient rights and confidentiality.

Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Responsibilities
  • Maintains a safe and efficient operating room environment
  • Coordinates the provision of surgical instruments and equipment
  • Assists the surgical team with patient care and preparation
  • Maintains accurate records and reports
Requirements

Education: High-School Diploma or GED, Surgical Technology experience or Graduate with a Degree in Surgical Technology or completion certification from an accredited surgical technology program preferred.

Licensure: AHA. BLS Required, Surgical Technologist Certification Preferred

Experience: Non-certified applicants may be considered for this position with acceptable surgical technology experience.

Certifications: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
