Job Overview

Ganahl Lumber Co is seeking a dedicated Yard Worker to contribute to our operations. This role involves managing the yard, processing customer orders by selecting and preparing materials. The individual will be responsible for receiving and dispatching shipments while ensuring the yard remains organized and secure.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in varying temperatures throughout the seasons. This position requires the ability to work efficiently and safely, including standing for extended periods while fulfilling orders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inventory Management: Accurately pick and package products as per customer requests. Maintain inventory levels and assist with restocking supplies as necessary. Identify and report any defective items and keep detailed records. Process invoices as instructed by management and ensure thorough documentation of supplies.
  • Safety and Cleanliness: Uphold a safe working environment by maintaining an orderly workspace, promptly addressing any concerns with supervisors, and participating in ongoing safety training. Address any complaints and inform the shift leader of persistent shipping or receiving challenges. Carry out additional related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Experience with inventory control systems is preferred.
  • Familiarity with lumber yards and their operations is advantageous, though training will be provided.
  • Ability to operate specific power equipment is a plus.
  • Physical capability to bend, stand, reach, pull, lift, and carry items within the yard.
