Position Overview:

The role of the Clinical Counseling Associate is pivotal in fostering a supportive environment for students facing personal, academic, or vocational challenges. Key Responsibilities:

As a Clinical Counseling Associate, you will:

  • Participate in comprehensive training and observational experiences to attain essential competencies.
  • Provide individual and group counseling services to students, addressing personal, academic, and vocational needs.
  • Facilitate educational workshops and conduct psychological assessments.
  • Engage in developmental and crisis counseling, including couples counseling and evaluations for students considering withdrawal.
  • Contribute to outreach programming, evolving from delivery to content creation.
  • Consult with faculty, staff, and parents regarding student welfare.
  • Offer evaluations and recommendations for students facing academic and conduct issues.
  • Participate in after-hours on-call duties and evening office hours as required.
  • Engage in case consultations and fulfill general administrative tasks.
Additional Duties:

This role may also involve supervising and training graduate students, along with program evaluation responsibilities.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Master's degree in a mental health-related field, with eligibility for LCMHCA or LCSWA.
  • A demonstrated commitment to providing informed and responsive services.
  • Prior clinical experience, including training.
  • Strong skills in crisis assessment and management.
  • Excellent interpersonal abilities.
Preferred Attributes:

Experience within a University Counseling Center is advantageous, particularly for candidates who are generalists and have a strong interest in outreach and group work.

Licensure Requirements:

Candidates must hold or be eligible for LCMHCA or LCSWA licensure.
