The selected candidate will collaborate with farmers and Community Builders within the network to assist them in sourcing essential crop inputs, including crop protection products, seeds, and biostimulants.
Regional Managers are responsible for recruiting, training, and overseeing territory Community Builders.
This role focuses on a designated territory and market area, engaging farmers to join the network through both in-person and digital outreach.
Regional Managers will facilitate farmers' access to FBN Direct, an innovative platform that allows growers to purchase crop inputs with price transparency on numerous products and a means to obtain low-cost chemicals delivered directly to their farms.
FBN Direct has generated significant savings for numerous farmers through its offerings.
Ultimately, the FBN Regional Manager plays a vital role in the commercialization of new products and services launched regularly.
RESPONSIBILITIESThe FBN Regional Manager will be accountable for recruiting farmers and ensuring high levels of grower satisfaction with FBN.
They will provide a seamless and distinct crop input transaction experience while maintaining strong grower satisfaction from post-harvest discussions to pre-season deliveries.
This includes, but is not limited to, the following tasks:
- Achieve sales targets for chemical products (gross profit, revenue, etc.).
- Recruit, train, and develop Community Builders to effectively cover the assigned territory.
- Assess growers' crop input requirements throughout the season and forecast based on projected sales and product needs.
- Create a territory business plan to meet objectives.
- Collaborate with each Community Builder to develop a Revenue & Action Plan that outlines goals and expectations for their partnership.
- Conduct product demonstrations and presentations for Community Builders and farmers.
- Encourage the collection of data (chemical/seed invoices and tags) from farmers to develop tailored crop protection and seed plans.
- Utilize Salesforce to manage, prioritize, and document all interactions and sales processes with Community Builders and farmers.
- Organize and oversee sales events within the territory.
- Document and report feedback from Community Builders and farmers for process enhancement.
- Represent FBN at various agricultural industry trade shows and events.
- Educate Community Builders and Farmers on how to place orders through FBN's online platform.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a keen awareness of the challenges faced by farmers.
They should have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a district, regional, or territory manager selling products or services directly to farmers or through a dealer network.
Compliance with all legal and safety procedures is essential.
Knowledge of agricultural inputs (e.g., crop protection, seed, animal health, and livestock feed) is required.
Strong domain experience in farming, production agriculture, retail, or input sales is necessary.
Candidates should be comfortable with technology, ideally with the latest precision Ag Systems; experience with Salesforce is a plus but not mandatory.
A background in Agronomy and/or territory management, including the management and utilization of agronomic data, is preferred.
Strong planning, prioritization, and organizational skills, along with a high level of motivation and a robust work ethic, are essential.
Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, accountable team environment is crucial.
A focus on farmers and a commitment to their satisfaction is a must.
PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONSA bachelor's or advanced degree is preferred.
At least 5 years of sales experience in agriculture, managing and exceeding monthly and annual quotas while selling directly to farmers is ideal.
Successful completion of safety training and DOT Hazmat certification is a plus.
A multi-generational farm background, farm hand experience, or related agricultural background is advantageous.
Cross-functional experience working across the enterprise is beneficial.
Experience balancing execution, agility, and culture in a rapidly growing business is a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSCertification, or the ability to become certified on equipment, is required.
Candidates must be able to push and pull up to 75 lbs independently and lift and carry loads weighing up to 50 lbs.
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, kneel, squat, reach, and grasp is necessary.
Ability to safely handle equipment used for moving inventory is essential.
Adaptability and foresight to manage unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.) are important.
