Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Pipefitter to join our team at Brown & Root. As a Pipefitter, you will be responsible for laying out, fabricating, assembling, installing, and maintaining piping systems, pipe supports, fixtures, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Select and install the appropriate type and size of pipe and related materials and equipment, such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders, according to job specifications.
  • Inspect the worksite to determine the presence of obstructions and plan the installation sequence to avoid them.
  • Cut, thread, and bend pipe using various tools and equipment.
  • Assemble and install pipes and pipe fittings, using threaded, caulked, soldered, or cemented joints.
  • Secure pipes to structures with brackets, clamps, and hangers, using hand and power tools.
  • Test piping systems for leaks by increasing pressure and observing gauges.
  • Perform minor maintenance and cleaning activities of tools and equipment.
Requirements
  • Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
  • Make decisions based on measurable criteria.
  • Apply shop mathematics to solve problems.
  • Plan work and select proper tools.
  • Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings.
Qualifications

May require a high school diploma or equivalent with 0-2 years of experience in the field or a related area. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment.

Physical Requirements
  • Strength: Standing 60%, Walking 20%, Sitting 20%.
  • Lifting 50 lb., Carrying 50 lb., Pushing 70 ft-lb., Pulling 70 ft-lb.
