Nuvance Health is seeking a skilled Nurse Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in providing professional care and assuming responsibility for a group of patients.

The Nurse Specialist will utilize the nursing process in collaboration with other healthcare team members to provide high-quality care to patients. This role requires a minimum of 1 year of NICU experience and/or 6 months of level IV NICU experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform ongoing and systematic assessments of patients' physiologic, psychological, and cognitive status.
  • Formulate a goal-directed plan of care that is prioritized and based on determined nursing diagnoses and patient outcomes.
  • Implement care in a knowledgeable, skillful, consistent, and continuous manner.
  • Establish priorities of patient care based on essential patient needs and available resources.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of care given and patient progression toward outcomes.
  • Identify patients' and significant others' learning needs and implement appropriate measures to meet them.
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary functions.
  • Fulfill all compliance responsibilities related to the position.

Requirements:

  • State of Connecticut Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Minimum 1 year of NICU experience and/or 6 months of level IV NICU experience.

Working Conditions:

  • Significant manual skills/motor coordination and finger dexterity.
  • Significant occupational risk.
  • Very Heavy effort. May exert up to 50 lbs. force.
  • Significant exposure to dirt, odor, noise, human waste, etc.
