Nurse Specialist

Nuvance Health is seeking a skilled Nurse Specialist to join our team. As a Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform ongoing and systematic assessments of patients' physiologic, psychological, and cognitive status.
- Develop and implement goal-directed plans of care based on determined nursing diagnoses and patient outcomes.
- Implement care in a knowledgeable, skillful, consistent, and continuous manner.
- Establish priorities of patient care based on essential patient needs and available resources.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of care given and patient progression toward outcomes.
- Identify patients'/significant others' learning needs and implement appropriate measures to meet them.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary functions.
- Fulfill all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- State of CT RN license.
- BLS certification required.
- Minimum of 6 months of NICU RN experience.
- PALS and NRP certifications or must obtain within 3 months of hire.
Working Conditions:
- Significant manual skills/motor coordination and finger dexterity.
- Significant occupational risk.
- Very Heavy effort. May exert up to 50 lbs. force.
- Significant exposure to dirt, odor, noise, human waste, etc.
