Bright Light Academy is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Assistant Director to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success of our early childhood education program.
Key Responsibilities- Program Administration: Assist in administering the program's objectives and activities, ensuring alignment with our mission and goals.
- Team Coordination: Coordinate and plan daily activities with group supervisors, assistant group supervisors, and aides in all age groups, promoting a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Record Keeping: Maintain current and up-to-date records on all students, including physicals, clearances, continuing education, assessments, emergency forms, medication forms, observations, behavior reports, and boo-boo reports.
- Regulatory Compliance: Assist the director in implementing and enforcing DHS regulations and Keystone Stars policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and maintaining our Star 4 rating.
- Emergency Preparedness: Plan and supervise several emergency evacuations and/or lockdown drills per year, ensuring the safety and well-being of our students and staff.
- Staff Support: Attend and participate in monthly staff meetings and in-services, providing support and guidance to our team members.
- Communication: Communicate regularly with parents about their child's development and progress, providing updates and insights into their child's growth and learning.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Complete child assessments and participate in parent-teacher conferences, providing valuable feedback and recommendations for improvement.
- Administrative Support: Provide break coverage of substitutes as needed, ensuring continuity and stability in our program.
- Education: Associate's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or Children and Families.
- Experience: Two+ years of experience working with young children, preferably toddlers, with a strong background in early childhood education.
- Certifications: Must qualify as a Group Supervisor with DHS and pass state, federal, and child abuse background checks.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, and a patient and nurturing approach to working with children.
- Compensation: Competitive hourly rate starting at $18.00 up to $20.00 (relative to experience and education) with a pay increase based on performance and education at the end of a 90-day probation period.
- Benefits Package: Full-time staff receive paid holidays, PTO, sick time, dental or vision insurance, reduced childcare, and more.
- Work Schedule: Full-time staff work a four-day work week.
