Job Overview: The Sales Associate plays a vital role in supporting retail operations within designated areas such as textbooks, general merchandise, art supplies, and computer supplies. Responsibilities include:

  • Receiving, unpacking, and restocking merchandise.
  • Pricing and shelving products to ensure a well-organized display.
  • Operating the cash register and handling customer transactions.
  • Providing excellent customer service via telephone, web, and in-store inquiries.
  • Assisting with store events and maintaining a fresh inventory.
  • Participating in the annual physical inventory process.

Additional Responsibilities: This role primarily focuses on cashiering duties and support for the web/mail order department.

Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED and have at least six months of experience in a customer service or retail environment. Physical requirements include frequent lifting, bending, and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds. Strong communication skills are essential for effective interaction with faculty, staff, students, and customers.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a retail setting with a strong emphasis on customer service is highly desirable.
