We are seeking a highly skilled Vascular Technologist to join our team at Bon Secours. As a Vascular Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional care to our patients by performing diagnostic, non-invasive vascular exams using ultrasound and physiologic testing equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform high-quality diagnostic vascular laboratory examinations using ultrasound and physiologic testing equipment to evaluate the cerebrovascular, peripheral arterial, and peripheral venous systems.
- Prepare patients for procedures, including explaining the procedure and providing instructions to obtain the desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize patient anxiety.
- Contact referring physicians for clarification prior to performing an exam if there is a suspicion that the exam order is incorrect.
- Utilize the hospital electronic medical record to review patient information, enter preliminary reporting, and document any critical findings in accordance with department policy.
- Complete assigned tasks in a time frame appropriate for the situation.
- Credentialed in vascular technology by one of the following organizations: Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVT) by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), or Vascular Sonographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
- BLS Basic Life Support, American Heart Association (required at hire for Roper St Francis Healthcare locations; preferred at hire, required prior to independent patient care at BSMH).
- Associate's degree in an applied health science field with concentration in cardiovascular technology, ultrasonography, or other related study (preferred).
- One year of experience as a vascular technologist (preferred).
