Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated Peer Mentor/EHA Transformation Specialist to join our team. As a Peer Mentor/EHA, you will play a critical role in providing direct outreach and support to potential participants in our Supportive Services for Veteran Families Program.
Main Responsibilities- Outreach and Engagement: Identify locations frequented by potential veteran applicants, provide direct outreach to veterans and their families, engage and build rapport with the target population, and coordinate initial screening and assessment with the Case Management team.
- Support and Mentoring: Provide peer support, mentoring, and coaching to SSVF participants through assistance in navigating and accessing veteran and mainstream resources, accompany veterans to appointments when necessary, and facilitate discussion and training in peer groups as determined by the Case Management team.
- Networking and Community Partnerships: Attend agency, community, and supervisory meetings, maintain working relationships with community agencies to provide comprehensive services to participants, and participate in Stand Downs and other VA/community outreach activities.
- Able to speak, write, and understand English.
- Possess basic computer skills.
- Must be sensitive to and respect cultural diversity amongst clients, staff, and volunteers and able to work with diverse racial, ethnic, and economic groups.
- Flexible work schedule including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to set appropriate limits, work under deadlines, and multi-task.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, self-motivate, and deliver results.
- $65,000 estimated annual salary.
- 95% Employer paid Employee only coverage (zero ded, $10 co-pay plan).
- 10k Employer paid Basic Life insurance.
- 120 hrs PTO accrued biweekly starting on day 1 of employment.
- 13 Paid Holidays to include Employee's birthday and Date of Hire.
