About DHL Express:

As a global leader in logistics and supply chain management, DHL Express is seeking a highly skilled Category Manager - Warehouse Solutions to join our Procurement team in Westerville, OH.

We are looking for an experienced professional with a strong background in automated supply chain solutions, including Dematic, Intelligrated, Beumer, and Fives. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing regional sourcing strategies, negotiating contracts, and managing suppliers to achieve optimal competitiveness and cost savings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and align a category strategy supported by market intelligence and business partner direction
  • Seek out opportunities to grow Procurement responsibility with business partners
  • Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of relevant supply markets, vendor trend analysis, and compliance
  • Establish and manage good working relationships with corporate sourcing and country management to optimize spend in relation to corporate initiatives
  • Build and maintain a solid understanding of regional business sector and site needs
  • Drive regional standardization in line with corporate standards and provide ongoing support to country and regional stakeholders
  • Select, develop, and manage best-in-class suppliers, assist sites and suppliers in onboarding to the organization
  • Contribute to the definition of supplier assessment criteria, drive ongoing assessment of suppliers' performance, and provide formal feedback
  • Define action plans with suppliers to meet corporate and regional objectives
  • Negotiate and manage suppliers to identify and deliver benefits of continuous improvement initiatives
  • Monitor ongoing benefits tracking and compliance assessments to achieve optimal competitiveness and cost savings
  • Conduct regular supplier benchmarking
  • Achieve identified key performance indicators, including savings and managed spend ratio, supplier performance, savings target achievement, business partner satisfaction, and spend compliance

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field
  • Hands-on experience with automated supply chain solutions
  • 7 years of procurement experience working closely with sourcing colleagues, operating management, and business partners
  • Strong network of contacts in the industry space
  • Proven experience in sourcing and negotiating large spend contracts
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully within a cross-functional and multi-stakeholder organizational structure
  • Project management and expertise in production equipment
  • E-sourcing experience (desired)
  • Fluency in English (oral and written)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Analytical skills (desired)
  • Assertive, results-oriented, proactive, and strategic thinking with strong personal integrity
