About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Medical Office Assistant - Float to join our team at SSM Health Dean Medical Group in Janesville. As a Medical Office Assistant - Float, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Administrative Support: Assist providers with patient exams, prepare exam rooms, and maintain accurate log books.
- Manage Patient Records: Verify patient information, file/scanning documents, and provide new patients with registration forms.
- Communicate with Patients: Notify patients of test results, return phone calls, and schedule appointments.
- Collect Clinical Information: Interview patients, record information, and prepare reports for providers.
- Maintain Confidentiality: Ensure patient confidentiality at all times and release information only with appropriate consent.
- Perform Clinical Duties: Obtain vital signs, collect and process specimens, and perform phlebotomy skills.
- Maintain Exam Rooms: Clean and stock rooms, order supplies, and prepare non-disposable instruments for sterilization.
- Schedule Appointments: Schedule patient appointments, reschedule, and cancel as necessary.
- Assist with Billing: Collect and post payments, balance cash drawer, and prepare superbills.
Requirements:
- Education: High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience.
- Experience: One year of experience in a healthcare setting.
- Physical Requirements: Constant standing and walking, frequent use of hearing and speech, and occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects.
Work Environment:
This is a variable shift position, and you will be working in a fast-paced healthcare environment. You must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
