This position is responsible for managing IT Services' AI/Machine Learning applications and infrastructure within the DSMLP and other ITS platforms. The successful candidate will have advanced knowledge of Linux/UNIX operating systems, container orchestration, and machine learning frameworks.
The AI & Machine Learning Platforms Administrator will be responsible for planning, deployment, configuration, operations, monitoring, tuning, and problem resolution/debugging of AI/Machine Learning applications and infrastructure. This includes designing and implementing Kubernetes clusters, container networking, security, system and application workloads deployments.
The ideal candidate will have experience with complex multi-platform troubleshooting in a multi-platform environment, ability to locate and understand logs in a multi-platform environment, and experience building, maintaining, and debugging integrations, middleware, and small applications written in Python, Bash/shell, and other scripted languages.
This position requires a strong understanding of computer security best practices and policies, as well as experience securing complex server-based software.
The AI & Machine Learning Platforms Administrator will work closely with colleagues in EIS and elsewhere in ITS to assist with operational management of EIS' broader academic and administrative Linux portfolio, including clusters, computer labs, remote-access, and remote-desktop services.
This position is a Career Appointment and requires a Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
The hiring pay scale for this position is $104,900 - $125,000 per year, and the employee must be available to work evenings and weekends, as well as travel as required.
