Infectious Diseases Physician

The Division of Infectious Diseases at Meharry Medical College is seeking a qualified infectious diseases physician to join its full-time faculty. This position includes a faculty appointment at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor with responsibilities related to demonstrating excellence in clinical medicine, teaching, and research.
Key Responsibilities:- Outpatient infectious diseases practice, including seeing patients at the Meharry Community Wellness Center (MCWC), a TN-designated AIDS Center of Excellence.
- Participation in travel medicine clinic.
- Inpatient infectious diseases coverage.
- Participation as a member of the Hospital Infection Prevention Committee.
- Teaching responsibilities, including formal and informal teaching activities for medical residents and medical students, family medicine and preventive medicine residents.
The successful applicant will be encouraged to engage with the Tennessee Center for AIDS Research (CFAR), a four-way partnership between Meharry Medical College, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Tennessee Department of Health, and Nashville CARES. The Tennessee CFAR provides opportunities for faculty members at all career stages to engage in highly collaborative research projects that may span epidemiology, behavioral science, clinical trials, health policy, community engagement, laboratory science, implementation science, and more.
Requirements:- Doctor of Medicine degree with a license to practice in Tennessee and DEA license required.
- Successful completion of an ACGME approved infectious diseases fellowship training program required.
- Current ABIM certification in Infectious Diseases required if more than 1 year from completion of fellowship training.
- Two or more years of experience taking care of persons with HIV.
- Experience in teaching medical students/residents preferred.
