Job Overview:
The State of Montana is seeking a highly skilled GIS Programmer/Analyst to join their team in Helena. As a key member of the Geographic Data Services Bureau at Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks, this individual will be responsible for developing and maintaining GIS mapping applications, data development, and workflow management in an enterprise environment.

About the Job:
This position requires exceptional programming and GIS skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work independently on multiple priorities. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with GIS applications, tools, and resources, including geodatabase configuration and management, geoprocessing, and location-based services. Software used will include the Esri Suite: ArcGIS Desktop/Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcGIS Online.

Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain GIS mapping applications and data delivery systems
* Collaborate on GIS application development and design
* Manage large GIS datasets and implement data quality control measures
* Work with diverse groups of people to ensure successful project outcomes
* Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in GIS and related technologies

Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in geographic information systems/geography, wildlife or fisheries biology and/or management, natural resources, geography, computer science, or a related field
* At least 5 years of progressive experience in a related profession
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to work independently on multiple priorities and collaborate with teams
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Experience with Esri Suite: ArcGIS Desktop/Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcGIS Online

Benefits:
* Estimated annual salary: $83,000 - $110,000 depending on experience
