- Conducts comprehensive analyses of water and sediment samples.
- Prepares detailed technical reports on biological and chemical monitoring.
- Utilizes statistical methods to assess technical data.
- Drafts comments on regulations and standards related to water quality.
- Participates in technical committees for studies on water quality monitoring.
- Supervises data entry processes and statistical evaluations.
- Engages in fieldwork for sample collection.
- Investigates the chemistry of water and sediment.
- Conducts chemical monitoring of water quality.
- Completes assigned tasks as required.
This position may involve exposure to various materials and fumes, including fieldwork conducted on a boat.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- In-depth understanding of aquatic ecology.
- Familiarity with approved sampling methods.
- Knowledge of biostatistics and water quality standards.
- Proficiency in using computers and data analysis software.
- Strong communication skills for technical reporting.
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in biology or a related discipline, accompanied by four years of experience in aquatic biology.
Substitution PolicyAdvanced studies in biological sciences may be considered as a substitute for the required experience.
Promotional Criteria- Minimum of one year of service as an Aquatic Biologist.
- Civil service status in relevant classifications.
