Job Opportunity: Part-Time Lifeguard

We are seeking a part-time lifeguard to join our team at the Irving Park YMCA in Chicago, IL.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of swimmers and patrons in the aquatic area
  • Respond to emergencies and administer CPR and First Aid as needed
  • Monitor the pool area and report any hazards or concerns to management
  • Participate in training and certification programs to maintain current certifications

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 15 years of age
  • Must have current YMCA or American Red Cross certification as a lifeguard, as well as current First Aid, AED, CPR, and Oxygen Administration certifications
  • Must be physically and mentally able to respond to emergencies and administer CPR and First Aid effectively
  • Ability to meet physical requirements based on job description
  • The YMCA will accommodate reasonable accommodations for persons with disability
