Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The Firearms Safety Operations Manager is tasked with ensuring the safety of all patrons and personnel at the shooting range. This role requires comprehensive knowledge of various firearms and the ability to assist shooters effectively. The primary responsibility is to plan, oversee, and manage safe shooting practices and range operations for all users. Additionally, the RSO Manager is accountable for the upkeep and maintenance of the range and its equipment. This position also involves providing training, scheduling, and support for all Range Safety Officers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Results Orientation

  1. Continuously monitor activities on the shooting lanes to ensure safety.
  2. Maintain cleanliness and compliance with legal standards in all areas.
  3. Deliver exceptional customer service on the range and in retail, leveraging technology knowledge.
  4. Exhibit a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
  5. Manage inventory and supplies necessary for daily range operations.
  6. Train and ensure compliance of RSO's with operational policies.
  7. Oversee scheduling and necessary training for the team of Range Safety Officers.

Operational Excellence

  1. Adhere strictly to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) at all times.
  2. Assess range conditions regularly and make necessary adjustments.
  3. Instruct customers on the proper use of lanes and targets.
  4. Familiarize with and implement emergency response plans as required.
  5. Report daily to management regarding any operational concerns.

Relationship Management

  1. Foster collaborative relationships within the organization.
  2. Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, including external vendors and trainers.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience as an NRA RSO, with proficiency in handling various firearms and resolving stoppages.
  • Ability to educate and train shooters of all experience levels.
  • Strong multitasking and prioritization skills.
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid.
  • Competence in safely managing firearms from shooters.
  • Excellent communication abilities.

EDUCATION

A high school diploma is required, with additional college coursework preferred. NRA certification is mandatory.

EXPERIENCE

3-5 years of experience in firearms education and/or as a range safety officer is preferred.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Willingness to work extended hours as needed.
  • Ability to physically inspect and audit all operations.
