Job Summary:

Sunriver Brewing Company is seeking a skilled Bar Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our Oakway Pub in Eugene. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for promoting and growing the business, hiring and training bar staff, and ensuring that guests receive exceptional drinks, food, and service.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Business Operations: Manage the business aspects of the bar, including maintaining a current liquor license, nurturing vendor relationships, taking inventory, and reordering supplies, managing budgets, and setting goals.
  • Staff Development: Fulfill staff beer education initiatives and maintain a commitment to strong communication between brewery and pub.
  • Staff Management: Hire and train staff to provide excellent service to guests.
  • Scheduling: Create effective schedules and quickly resolve conflicts to ensure that the bar is well staffed during peak hours.
  • Quality Control: Set and enforce quality and safety controls.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure current licenses are posted and in line with current legislation.
  • Customer Service: Work with diverse personalities both on the staff and guests.
  • Event Planning: Plan and take part in promotional events.
  • Conflict Resolution: Diffuse tense situations between guests or staff members to prevent possible safety or legal issues, ejecting unruly persons, if needed.
  • Team Environment: Maintain a fun, safe atmosphere for guests.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Certifications: Food Handler's Permit & OLCC Permit
  • Education: High school diploma
  • Experience: Two years of restaurant management experience or more education is generally preferred
  • Business Acumen: Strong understanding of business management and accounting principles
  • Communication: Excellent computer, problem-solving, and customer service skills
  • Interpersonal: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Conflict Resolution: Ability to diffuse tense situations and resolve conflicts
  • Availability: Willingness to work during peak hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Leadership: Effectively delegate responsibilities and maximize resources
  • Decision Making: Decisiveness
  • Physical Demands: Ability to walk, stand, and occasionally carry heavy items in a fast-paced, stressful environment
