Shipping Management:

  • Direct daily shipping activities, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with production, warehouse, and logistics departments to facilitate timely and accurate dispatch of products.
  • Oversee shipping timelines to meet customer delivery expectations.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, train, and inspire a team of shipping clerks and associates.
  • Conduct performance assessments and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Organize work schedules and manage staffing to maintain optimal coverage.

Process Optimization:

  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements to improve shipping productivity and reduce operational costs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for shipping operations.

Inventory Oversight:

  • Supervise the preparation and validation of shipping documents, including bills of lading and packing lists.
  • Manage inventory records to ensure accuracy in shipped and received goods.
  • Address and resolve discrepancies related to shipments and inventory management.

Customer Relations:

  • Handle and resolve shipping-related inquiries or issues from clients.
  • Coordinate with customer service and sales teams to ensure accurate order fulfillment.

Reporting and Metrics:

  • Generate and analyze shipping reports to monitor performance indicators, shipping expenses, and delivery timelines.
  • Provide regular updates to management regarding shipping operations and potential challenges.

Qualifications:

  • A University Degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field, or 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Must be a U.S. Person as defined by applicable regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in shipping within a manufacturing context.
  • Familiarity with SAP systems.
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials shipping.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication abilities across all organizational levels.
  • Previous leadership experience is advantageous.
