Position Overview:

The Senior Software Engineer will be an integral part of a Balanced Product Team, collaborating closely with the Product Manager, Product Designer, and fellow Software Engineers to create innovative analytic solutions.

This role entails the design, development, and ongoing support of analytical solutions, working within small, agile teams.

The engineer will maintain continuous interaction with business stakeholders, software engineers, technical leads, and designers, ensuring frequent releases and iterative improvements.


Product and Requirements Management:

Engage in the development of requirements, features, user stories, use cases, and test cases. Actively participate in daily stand-up meetings.


Documentation and Development:

Contribute to the creation of process and design documents. Collaborate with business customers, product owners, architects, product designers, software engineers, and security champions on solution design, development, and deployment.


Operational Responsibilities:

Generate metrics, manage user access authorizations, maintain passwords, and build deployment pipelines.


Incident and Change Management:

Lead and participate in activities related to incidents, problems, changes, and service requests, including root cause analysis and proactive problem management.


Required Skills:

Experience in Test-First Development and Test Driven Development (TDD) with 5-6+ years in object-oriented programming languages such as Python (Flask), Java (Spring Boot), and JavaScript (AngularJS, Karma). Proficiency in modern databases (both relational and non-relational) including SQL Server, Teradata, and Big Data technologies.

Familiarity with continuous integration and delivery tools such as Jenkins, Terraform, SonarQube, Gradle, and GitHub. 3-4+ years of experience in cloud platforms like Google Cloud Platform, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Amazon Web Services, and Microsoft Azure. Knowledge of Spring/Spring Boot and RESTful web services development is essential.


Experience Requirements:

Understanding of eXtreme Programming (XP) practices, including pair/mob programming and TDD. Experience in deploying applications on cloud platforms. Familiarity with Hadoop, Hive, Spark, and machine learning is advantageous. Proficient in using Agile tools such as CA Agile Central (Rally) for managing backlogs, iterations, and user stories.

Strong collaboration skills with technical specialists, product managers, UI/UX designers, and business partners. A passion for learning and adaptability to pair programming environments. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.


Educational Background:

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
