Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist

We are seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to provide comprehensive speech and language services to students in a school setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct evaluations to identify speech, language, and communication disorders in students.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and therapy plans tailored to each student's needs.
  • Provide direct therapy to students individually or in small groups, focusing on speech, language, voice, and fluency.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to integrate speech and language goals into classroom and home activities.
  • Monitor and document students' progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and participate in IEP meetings.
  • Educate and provide training to school staff and parents on strategies to support students' communication skills.
  • Maintain accurate records, including progress reports, IEP documentation, and billing information as required.
  • Adhere to school policies, state and federal regulations, and professional standards of practice.
Requirements:
  • Education: Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Licensure: Current Pennsylvania Speech-Language Pathologist license issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Examiners in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.
  • Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Pennsylvania Department of Education Certification: Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Educational Specialist Certification in Speech and Language Impaired from the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
  • Clearances: Must pass required background checks, including PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and FBI Federal Criminal History Background Check.
  • Experience: Previous experience working in a school setting is preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices.
  • Knowledge of school-based therapy models and the IEP process.
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus.
Working Conditions:
  • The position requires working in a school environment, which may involve travel between schools within the district.
  • May involve lifting or moving equipment used in therapy sessions.
