Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Job Summary:
We are looking for a passionate and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team. The SLP will provide prehensive speech and language services to students, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support the munication needs of students in the school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations to identify speech, language, and munication disorders in students.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and therapy plans tailored to each student's needs.
- Provide direct therapy to students individually or in small groups, focusing on speech, language, voice, and fluency.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to integrate speech and language goals into classroom and home activities.
- Monitor and document students' progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and participate in IEP meetings.
- Educate and provide training to school staff and parents on strategies to support students' munication skills.
- Maintain accurate records, including progress reports, IEP documentation, and billing information as required.
- Adhere to school policies, state and federal regulations, and professional standards of practice.
Requirements:
- Education: Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Licensure: Current Pennsylvania Speech-Language Pathologist license issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Examiners in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.
- Certification: Certificate of Clinical petence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Pennsylvania Department of Education Certification: Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Educational Specialist Certification in Speech and Language Impaired from the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
- Clearances: Must pass required background checks, including PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and FBI Federal Criminal History Background Check.
- Experience: Previous experience working in a school setting is preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Skills: Strong munication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with augmentative and alternative munication (AAC) devices.
- Knowledge of school-based therapy models and the IEP process.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus.
Working Conditions:
- The position requires working in a school environment, which may involve travel between schools within the district.
- May involve lifting or moving equipment used in therapy sessions.
