The Financial Planning Analyst is tasked with documenting financial transactions, conducting analytical activities, and assessing trends and factors influencing Northwestern Memorial Healthcare.

This role includes responsibilities for preparing and reviewing aspects related to the month-end closing process, along with supporting the annual financial statement audit. The analyst must grasp intricate financial concepts within a dynamic environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze study documents (protocol, consent form, budget, clinical trial agreement, coverage analysis) to identify research-related charges affecting Northwestern Memorial Healthcare, ensuring compliant billing practices.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of and adhere to the regulations of various payors, including Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and commercial payors, along with Medicare's Clinical Trial Policy (NCD and related guidance).
  • Serve as a resource for research teams to assist in identifying items and services related to research and determining the appropriate payor.
  • Maintain expertise in Epic, clinical trial management systems, charge master/fee schedules, and relevant government and non-government resources.
