OBJECTIVE:
The Facilities Operations Supervisor is tasked with ensuring that the premises and associated services fulfill the requirements of the personnel utilizing them.
This role encompasses accountability for services such as janitorial, security, and parking to guarantee that the environment is conducive for work.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Managing and negotiating contracts with service providers for security, parking, cleaning, catering, technology, and more.
- Leading diverse teams including cleaning, maintenance, grounds, and security personnel.
- Ensuring essential facilities such as water supply and heating systems are properly maintained.
- Overseeing budgets to ensure financial efficiency.
- Ensuring compliance with governmental regulations and standards for health, safety, and the environment.
- Providing guidance on enhancing energy efficiency and cost management.
- Supervising building projects, renovations, or refurbishments.
- Assisting organizations in relocating to new offices and making informed leasing decisions.
- Preparing reports and formulating written recommendations.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Facilities Engineering, or a related field such as project management, business management, or construction management.
- Proficient understanding of project management principles and practices.
- Solid grasp of financial principles and practices.
- Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Experience in construction, maintenance, and all aspects of facility operations.
- Strong organizational and planning capabilities.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Capability to lead and manage teams and projects effectively.
- Attention to detail while maintaining a focus on the broader implications.
