Job Title: Senior SQL Database Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior SQL Database Administrator to join our team at Leidos. As a key member of our Defense Enclave Services (DES) team, you will be responsible for supporting data system services and operations, as well as digital modernization programs critical to DISA and Fourth Estate Agencies at Fort Meade, MD.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze business processes and procedures to make recommendations for system/software solutions.
  • Provide Tier 3 Microsoft SQL Server support, solving complex issues and providing sound solutions.
  • Apply best practices for tuning SQL databases to improve overall system performance.
  • Support software development and testing throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Review proposed database structure changes and gain approval to modify based on best practices.
  • Research interfaces to identify and code required updates to support integration.
  • Ensure software releases are fully supported and gain approvals before implementing new changes into the production environment.
  • Create and maintain all SQL databases required for development, testing, and production usage.
  • Control migrations of programs, database changes, reference data changes, and menu changes through the development life cycle.
  • Put standards in place to ensure all application design and code is produced with proper integrity, security, and performance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience.
  • Tier 3 MS SQL Server Support.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and present solutions to leadership.
  • Must hold current DoD 8570 IAT2 certification Security+ CE or higher.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong oral, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • MS SQL 2000, 2005, 2008R2, 2016.
  • Experience with Oracle Database.
