We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Process Improvement Specialist to join our team at Westlake Chemical Corporation.

Job Summary

This is an entry-level position that requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. The ideal candidate will have proficiency with Windows-based software, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and SolidWorks.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.

About the Role

This role involves managing manufacturing tooling and process improvements to enhance productivity and product design. You will design, maintain, and modify tooling and processes, and provide engineering support to the production team.

  • Directs and coordinates tooling repair, maintenance, and modification.
  • Recommends and implements design improvements for manufacturing productivity and product design.
  • Consults with other departments to modify tooling and processes for production and quality improvement.
  • Interfaces with manufacturing and maintenance personnel to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Leads tooling technicians to support production and complete equipment modifications and maintenance.
  • Teaches and mentors tooling technicians on equipment functions and troubleshooting.
  • Interfaces with tool repair suppliers to obtain quotes and monitor maintenance activities.
  • Provides project management for continuous manufacturing process improvement.
  • Provides CAD support for CAPEX projects and supplemental projects.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • Proficiency with Windows-based software, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and SolidWorks.
  • Experience with statistical software preferred.
  • Ability to work independently to resolve issues and problems.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Project management and continuous improvement experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel, including Canada.
  • Knowledge of the extrusion process preferred.
  • Ability to obtain a forklift license.
