Speech-Language Pathologist Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in our diverse resident population at Lexington Premier Nursing & Rehab.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geriatric care, excellent interpersonal skills, and a commitment to improving the quality of life for our residents.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and resident needs.
  • Implement and monitor therapeutic interventions to improve communication skills and swallowing functions.
  • Adapt treatment techniques to meet the specific needs and goals of each resident.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of resident progress, treatment plans, and clinical notes.
  • Prepare detailed reports and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team, residents, and their families.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in KY.
  • Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
  • Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care and a commitment to improving the quality of life for residents.
