Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Lead Technologist, the Patient Navigator plays a crucial role in ensuring seamless care for breast imaging patients. Key responsibilities include coordinating appointments with referring physicians, managing patient flow, assisting technologists, organizing compliance documentation, and providing outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome patients courteously and promptly.
  • Assist clients by addressing inquiries and fulfilling requests with patience and kindness.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation is prepared prior to patient arrivals.
  • Review and complete patient questionnaires as needed.
  • Document relevant information in the patient chart using the Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Support technologists and radiologists during biopsy procedures.
  • Manage callback lists and schedule appointments accordingly.
  • Confirm appointments and follow up with patients regarding any missed visits.
  • Facilitate communication between radiologists and patients regarding pathology reports.
  • Coordinate surgical consultations and send necessary documentation to surgeons.
  • Follow up with healthcare providers to confirm receipt of important findings.
  • Organize and send patient correspondence.
  • Assist with patient portal inquiries.
  • Guide patients to the appropriate imaging modality as required.
  • Maintain clear communication with technologists to ensure efficient patient flow.
  • Notify patients and families of any scheduling delays.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Send images and reports to requesting facilities as needed.
  • Assist technologists in preparing documentation for regulatory compliance.
  • Exhibit a strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
  • Maintain an organized work area.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare; prior imaging experience is advantageous.
