Job Summary

The Staff Radiologic Technologist is a key member of our medical team, responsible for taking high-quality radiographs that meet the standards of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). This role requires a strong understanding of human anatomy, patient care, and radiographic sciences, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures, including ER, surgical, fluoroscopic, and portable radiographs.
  • Select and operate radiography equipment, imaging, and associated accessories to successfully perform procedures.
  • Interpret and implement referring physicians' orders.
  • Practice safe radiation protection, following hospital guidelines.
  • Assist physicians and radiologists in procedures requiring sterile technique.
  • Prepare and administer radiopaque contrast media needed for radiologic exams.
  • Assess patients' conditions prior to and during all radiologic procedures.
  • Provide optimum patient care during exams.
  • Corroborate patients' clinical history with procedure, ensuring information is documented and available for use by licensed practitioners.
  • Perform minor equipment repairs and upkeep, and communicate problems to supervisors or the communication log.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an American Medical Association-approved program in Radiologic Technology or meet requirements for Texas certification of Medical Radiologic Technologist on an education-equivalent basis.
  • Entry-level graduate Radiologic technologist will be accepted, depending on shift and technical responsibility of the shift.
  • Certified by the Texas Medical Board as a Medical Radiologic Technologist.
  • ARRT (R) Certified with Radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or ARRT (R) registry eligible, with understanding that must have ARRT (R) within 12 months post-hire.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support, or CPR, must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
